Data about minors

Nido Family may contain information about minors entered voluntarily by their parents or legal guardians (name, date of birth, photo). This information is handled with extra care and never shared with third parties. Parents or guardians are responsible for the information they enter about minors.

3 How We Use Your Data

  • To create and manage your user account
  • To let you create and join family groups
  • To send and receive care requests between family members
  • To display the shared family calendar
  • To send you push notifications about requests and events
  • To manage your Nido Plus subscription
  • To sync events with Apple Calendar if you opt in
  • To improve the app through anonymous usage analytics

We do not use your data for advertising, nor do we share it with third parties for commercial purposes.

4 Legal Basis for Processing

The processing of your data is based on:

  • Performance of contract: to provide you with the service you sign up for
  • Consent: for optional features like profile photo or Apple Calendar sync
  • Legitimate interest: for app security and fraud prevention
  • Legal obligation: when required by applicable law

5 Who We Share Your Data With

Your data is shared only with the following service providers, all within the GDPR legal framework:

  • Google Firebase — database, authentication and storage infrastructure. Servers located in Europe (eur3 — Frankfurt/Belgium). Firebase Privacy Policy
  • Apple Inc. — Sign in with Apple authentication, subscription management and push notifications. Apple Privacy Policy

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third party for commercial or advertising purposes.

6 How Long We Keep Your Data

  • While your account is active, your data is kept to provide the service
  • When you delete your account, all your data is permanently erased from our servers within 30 days
  • Subscription data may be retained for as long as required by Apple or applicable tax regulations
  • Security logs are kept for a maximum of 90 days

7 Your Rights (GDPR)

As a user residing in the European Union, you have the following rights:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure: delete your account and all your data from within the app at Profile → Delete account
  • Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection: object to processing in certain circumstances
  • Restriction: request that we limit the processing of your data

You can exercise these rights by writing to privacy@nidofamily.app. We'll respond within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

8 Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • Encrypted communications via HTTPS/TLS
  • Firestore security rules ensuring each user only accesses their own data and that of their family
  • Secure authentication via Firebase Auth or Sign in with Apple
  • Passwords are never stored in plain text

9 Push Notifications

The app may send you push notifications to inform you of new requests, responses and event reminders. You can disable notifications at any time from your iPhone Settings or from the notifications section in your profile within the app.

10 Apple Calendar Sync

Apple Calendar sync is a fully optional feature you can toggle on or off from your profile. When enabled, confirmed Nido events and requests are added to a dedicated calendar on your iPhone. This sync happens only on your device, and we do not share data with Apple beyond what the iOS API itself requires.

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you with an in-app notification or by email. The last-updated date is always visible at the top of this page.

Plain-language summary: By using Nido Family you accept these terms. The app is a family coordination service. You are responsible for the data you enter. We offer a free plan and a paid subscription (Nido Plus) managed by Apple.

1 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing or using Nido Family ("the app", "the service") you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any of them, you must not use the app.

These terms are governed by Spanish law and applicable European Union regulations.

2 Description of the Service

Nido Family is an iOS mobile app designed to help families coordinate care for kids and pets among their members. The service includes:

  • Creation and management of family groups
  • Sending and receiving care requests
  • Shared family calendar
  • Push notifications
  • Optional Apple Calendar sync
  • Additional features in the Nido Plus plan

3 Registration and Account

To use Nido Family you must create an account with a valid email address or via Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials confidential
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately if you detect any unauthorized use
  • Providing truthful and up-to-date information in your profile

Creating fake accounts, using third-party email addresses without their consent or impersonating another person is prohibited.

4 Free Plan and Nido Plus

Free plan

Nido Family offers a free plan with the following limitations:

  • Up to 4 family members
  • Up to 10 requests per month
  • No Apple Calendar sync
  • No recurring requests

Free trial

When you create a new family, a 7-day free trial of Nido Plus is automatically activated. No credit card is required during the trial. The trial can only be used once per Apple ID.

Nido Plus

Nido Plus is the paid subscription that unlocks all features without limits. Available in two options:

  • Monthly: $2.99/month
  • Yearly: $24.99/year (equivalent to $2.08/month)

The subscription applies to one family. All members of that family automatically benefit when the administrator has Nido Plus active.

Billing and renewal

Subscriptions are fully managed by Apple through the App Store. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. The charge is applied to your Apple ID account. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Refunds

Refunds are handled through Apple according to their policies. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

5 Acceptable Use

You agree to use Nido Family only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. The following is prohibited:

  • Using the app to harass, threaten or harm other users
  • Entering false or misleading information
  • Attempting to access other families' data without authorization
  • Using the app for illegal activities
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling or attempting to extract the source code
  • Abusing the free trial system by creating multiple accounts
  • Using bots or automated systems to interact with the service

6 User Content

You are solely responsible for all content you enter in the app: names, photos, notes, events and any other information. By entering content in Nido Family you represent that:

  • You have the right to enter and share such content
  • The content does not infringe any third-party rights
  • You have obtained the necessary consent to enter data about others, especially minors

Nido Family acts solely as a technical service provider and has no access or editorial control over the content users enter in their private family groups.

7 Service Availability

We strive to keep the service available continuously, but we do not guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily interrupted due to:

  • Scheduled or emergency maintenance
  • Technical issues outside our control
  • Outages in third-party services (Firebase, Apple)

We will not be liable for losses arising from temporary service interruptions.

8 Intellectual Property

Nido Family and all its elements — design, code, logos, icons, text and functionality — are the exclusive property of Daniel Fernández and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Using the app does not grant you any ownership rights over the software or its content. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the app on your personal iOS devices, solely for the purposes described in these terms.

9 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nido Family shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the app
  • Data loss caused by factors outside our control
  • Damages arising from improper use of the app by the user
  • Conflicts between users in the same family
  • Consequences of care arrangements coordinated through the app

Nido Family is a family coordination and communication tool. Care decisions are the sole responsibility of the users and their families.

10 Cancellation and Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account within the app. Doing so will permanently erase all your personal data.

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice, depending on the severity of the violation.

Cancelling your Nido Plus subscription does not delete your account — it simply switches to the free plan at the end of the current billing period.

11 Changes to These Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. When changes are significant, we will notify you at least 15 days in advance via an in-app notification. Continued use of the app after the new terms take effect constitutes acceptance.

12 Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Spanish law. For any dispute arising from the use of Nido Family, the parties submit to the courts of the user's domicile, in accordance with consumer protection regulations.
